Scout is built to actually respect you as a person. To the very best of our ability, we only ever use your information to do what you ask. We strive to empower you with full authority over your digital footprint.

The Details

Scout only ever collects information with your explicit consent, for the purpose of providing the services you have requested. Particularly, for keeping track of events that you've expressed interest in.

For SMS specifically, consent is collected when you send a first message to Scout with a request, or when you text "START" to Scout.

Here's the data we collect and how we use it:

Your phone number or messaging handle

We use this to chat with you, and to associate data entries such as calendars with your account.

Information you explicitly send to us, like text messages, forwarded emails, event names, photos, etc.

We use this to research and track events for you, and provide other services that you explicitly request. Publicly accessible webpages discovered through researching event information sent to us may be saved for future improvement of services, in a way that does not connect to your account.

We only send your information to third parties as required to do what you request, like integrating with your calendar. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

You can request deletion of any of your information from our systems at any time by requesting that the Scout agent delete your info. Because of the non-deterministic and freeform way generative AI agents work, textual information can sometimes accidentally persist in unexpected ways outside of what the system was designed to do, but we do our honest best here.

We keep system logs for 30 days after which they're deleted. Structured information, such as the text of your conversation, is retained indefinitely unless you request its deletion.

It is impossible to fully safeguard a non-deterministic language model, such as the Scout assistant, against violating these policies. For example, if you were to specifically instruct Scout to behave differently, it might do so. As such, while we cannot make binding guarantees around this policy, this policy states our intention and the principles we follow in our system design.
